Empowerment Coaching in Glasgow and Online
Own your voice. Own your life.
Find Your Voice. Build Confidence. Take Ownership.
There are times when you know what you want to say or do, but still find yourself holding back.
You may agree to things you do not want, worry about disappointing people, avoid difficult conversations or put your own needs aside to keep others happy.
Empowerment Coaching with The Missing Piece gives you a practical space to understand these patterns and work on responding differently. The focus is on helping you become more comfortable speaking up, making decisions and standing by your choices.
It is not about becoming someone else. It is about becoming more confident in expressing what you think, what you need and what matters to you.
When Empowerment Coaching May Help
Empowerment coaching may be helpful if you:
- Find it difficult to speak up or express what you really think
- Often put other people’s needs before your own
- Struggle to say no
- Worry about disappointing people
- Avoid difficult or uncomfortable conversations
- Regularly second-guess your decisions
- Find it difficult to stand your ground
- Feel uncomfortable expressing your needs
- Want to become more confident in your own choices
- Know you want to make a change but keep holding yourself back
The aim is to understand what is getting in the way and develop practical ways to respond with greater confidence.
Finding Your Voice
Finding your voice is not about being louder or more forceful.
It is about becoming comfortable expressing your thoughts, needs and opinions without constantly changing your position to gain approval.
Coaching can help you explore where you hold yourself back and work on clearer ways of communicating.
This may include:
- Saying what you actually think
- Expressing your needs clearly
- Saying no when something does not work for you
- Preparing for conversations you have been avoiding
- Speaking up without becoming unnecessarily confrontational
- Becoming more comfortable sharing your opinions
- Communicating your position with greater confidence
Moving Beyond People-Pleasing
Wanting to keep everyone happy can make it difficult to know what you genuinely want.
You may automatically say yes, avoid disagreement or change your decision because you are worried about how someone else will react.
Empowerment coaching can help you recognise these patterns and understand what is behind them.
For example, if you regularly agree to things you do not want because you are worried about disappointing someone, we can explore what makes saying no difficult, consider a different response and review what happens when you put that response into practice.
The focus is on making practical changes that you can use in everyday situations.
Building Confidence in Your Decisions
Confidence does not mean being certain all the time.
It can mean being able to make a decision without constantly needing someone else to approve it.
Coaching can help you:
- Clarify what matters to you in a particular situation
- Make decisions with greater confidence
- Trust your own judgement
- Take responsibility for your choices
- Reduce repeated second-guessing
- Move from thinking about a decision to taking action
The goal is not to make every decision perfectly. It is to become more comfortable making choices and standing behind them.
Setting Boundaries and Standing Your Ground
Boundaries help you communicate what you are comfortable with and what you are not.
If you regularly overcommit, agree when you want to say no or tolerate situations that do not work for you, coaching can provide a structured space to work through these challenges.
Together, we can identify where your boundaries need to be clearer, consider how you want to communicate them and review what happens when you start applying them in real situations.
Preparing for Difficult Conversations
Some conversations are difficult because you know that speaking honestly may lead to disagreement, disappointment or an uncomfortable reaction.
Rather than avoiding the conversation, coaching can help you prepare.
You can work through:
- What you actually want to communicate
- What you need from the conversation
- What you are willing and not willing to accept
- How you want to respond if the conversation becomes difficult
- How you can communicate clearly without unnecessary confrontation
The aim is to help you approach important conversations with greater clarity and confidence.
Taking Greater Ownership
Empowerment is also about recognising where you have choices.
You cannot control how other people respond, but you can work on how you communicate, what you accept, what you say yes or no to and what action you take.
Coaching helps you focus on the areas where you can make a difference and turn that understanding into practical action.
What Happens During Empowerment Coaching?
- Understand – We look at the situation you are dealing with and what you would like to change.
- Identify – We explore the patterns, beliefs or situations that may be making it difficult to speak up, set boundaries or make decisions.
- Practise – We work through practical ways to communicate, respond or approach the situation differently.
- Take Action – You identify realistic actions to try between sessions.
- Review – The next session gives you space to look at what happened, what worked and what you would like to approach differently.
This creates a clear connection between sessions, with the focus on practical progress rather than simply talking about the same situation each time.

Empowerment Coaching in Glasgow and Online
Empowerment Coaching is available in Glasgow and online.
Sessions provide a structured space to work on confidence, communication, boundaries, people-pleasing, difficult conversations and taking greater ownership of your choices.
You do not need to have everything worked out before starting. The £75 consultation gives us dedicated time to understand what you are looking for and discuss whether Empowerment Coaching is the right service for you.
Empowerment Coaching or Personal Development?
The two services can overlap, but they have different main purposes.
Empowerment Coaching is focused on finding your voice, speaking up, confidence in your choices, people-pleasing, boundaries, difficult conversations and taking greater ownership.
Personal Development Coaching is broader. It focuses more on identity, personal standards, life direction, decision-making and longer-term personal growth.
If you already know what you want to change but need structure and accountability to put practical changes into action, Mental Health Coaching may be more suitable.
If you mainly need support to talk through feeling overwhelmed, anxious or emotionally exhausted and make sense of what you are experiencing, Mental Health Support may be a better starting point.
A Note About Scope
Empowerment coaching is a coaching service. It is not psychotherapy, psychiatric care or a substitute for clinical treatment.
If you are experiencing serious mental health difficulties, abuse, immediate danger or a situation requiring specialist professional support, appropriate qualified or emergency support should be sought.

Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is life coaching?
Life coaching is a forward-focused, action-oriented partnership. It helps you identify your goals, overcome obstacles, and create sustainable change in your life. You bring the drive — I bring the structure, accountability, and real-world experience to help you get where you want to be.
What can I expect from working with a coach?
Coaching is collaborative — you’re the expert on your life, and I’m here to ask the right questions, offer perspective, and help you unlock your own solutions. Expect honest conversations, practical strategies, and someone who holds you accountable to the goals you set.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is about getting to know each other and understanding where you are right now. We’ll discuss what brought you here, what you’re hoping to achieve, and whether coaching is the right fit for you. There’s no pressure — it’s a conversation. If we both feel it’s a good match, we’ll outline a coaching plan tailored to your goals.
Do I need to have hit rock bottom to work with you?
Absolutely not. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from coaching. Whether you’re recovering from a difficult breakup, rebuilding after addiction, working through relationship challenges, or simply wanting to level up your life — coaching can help. The best time to start is when you recognise something needs to change and you’re ready to do the work.
How long does it take to see results?
This varies depending on your goals and commitment level. Some people notice shifts in perspective within the first few sessions. Others see tangible changes — better relationships, improved fitness, career progress — within 4-8 weeks of consistent work. The key is showing up, being honest, and taking action between sessions. Coaching works fastest when you’re actively engaged.
Is coaching available online?
Yes, all coaching sessions are available online via video call, making it accessible whether you’re in Scotland or anywhere in the world. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person ones — you get the same level of attention, insight, and accountability. We can schedule sessions at times that work for you.
